1. reads (no dave sim reference)

been reading less text only pieces recently….can’t remember the last “book” book i picked up….

my mother in law got me the last volume in the Azzarello/Risso series, 100 Bullets - “Wilt”, a long spanning work which i am still blown away by….doing a retracing retyping job on the entire series to build up some momentum for my own projects

George Sprott by Seth is the last, best and by now way overdue graphic narrative that i checked out from the library

Wild Raspberries by Andy Warhol is a slim illustrated joke cookbook that i found in the art section of the LAPL - Central Branch

Fox Bunny Funny by Andy Hartzell was a great silent B&W comic in a Spy vs Spy way about identity….could work as a coming out/gender re assignment allegory

re reading Joann Sfar’s Vampire Loves ….

  2. back in the building/back to building

been away for a minute….wasn’t feeling the format…..school life/work life - there was no balance…slipped into sloth….took a trip to Buenos Aires for 10 days (thanks Annie and Matt!)….feeling refreshed now…back at it…

  3. http://videos.onsmash.com/v/37vi8iWRZld9Iv1b

eff that Marshall Mathers “relapse” album promotional parade that has been going on for the last few weeks…I am putting my scant album purchasing dollars behind mr Chris Palko p/k/a Cage…got the latter’s Ineverknewyou giveaway ep and have been listening to it steady on the morning train - moody brilliant stalker music

  4. roku>>>>cineplex

day off….saw Gay Sex in the 1970’s and We Own The Night via netflix’s roku box both great films in their own right

  6. review of “Wik Wik Wak” by Big Lou feat. Probz, Torae, Kel Spencer and Skyzoo

Latino Camden, NJ Freddie Foxxx esque rapper, Big Lou, hosts a posse cut. There is a sub par 50 Cent imitation over the chorus which is an early KRS One line used to good effect. A martial beat propels Big Lou and Skyzoo only.

    “Go Hard”

Hard to write DJ Khaled’s name as all he does is introduce himself and other artists by shouting. Zamunda big drums/insect whine/keyboard underlying/Auto Tune all over the place.

Kanye has a strong showing for a throwaway pop song

  7. the white ipod headphone buds offerings scar my ears

the sound quality is fine but they dig at soft waxy interiors

I prefer the $5 panasonic ear buds at Target - much louder sound

and nice smooth aural existence but they suffer from a single side paralysis after a few

months and need to be replaced.

    I’ve estimated that I buy 4 sets a year

  8. rap videos shot in recording studios are boring.

    the chain

    the car

    the rented house

was parodied to great effect in the Roots video

    but the formula marches on
